As LifePoint Church celebrates its 20th birthday this fall, we’re taking time to thank God, look back at all He has done in and through our church, anticipate what He’ll do in our next chapter, and have some fun together. Join us on Sunday, September 7, 2025, as we throw a birthday bash like no other—celebrating 20 years of changed lives, growing faith, and unforgettable moments together. The day will be filled with worship, food, fun, baptisms, and family-friendly festivities. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or just recently found your way to LifePoint, you’re invited to the party!

20 YEARS OF STORIES
2005 - 2025
2005
LifePoint Church is Born: Cecil & Leah Whitton launch the church with 7 people. A vision to reach Pearland with the love of Jesus takes root.
2006-2009
Our Foundational Years: A dedicated team was formed, growth began, and missions quickly became a central part of our heartbeat. LifeGroups officially launched — creating spaces for people to grow in faith, build community, and walk through life together.
2010
First Major Expansion: We knocked down a wall to double our seating capacity, overlaid the asphalt parking lot, and upgraded our audio and media systems. The back hallways were expanded to make room for more lives to be changed.
2012-2013
The Launch of LifePoint Haiti: Began a meaningful missions partnership and helped launch “Centre De Vie” (Center of Life) in Haiti —known as LifePoint Haiti. We took our first mission trip to Haiti, with an amazing miracle to purchase property there to build a church.
2014
We added our second parking lot, more than doubling our parking capacity to welcome even more families.
2015
LifePoint grows rapidly and adds two Sunday services to make room for more people to encounter Jesus. We took a second mission trip to Haiti. The church building was completed. God is doing amazing things in the lives of our people here and overseas.
2019-2020
Major building expansion! Over 10,000 square feet are added in LifePoint's largest build-out yet, creating room for expanded ministry, children, and youth spaces and a fully upgraded sanctuary with new audio, video, and tech systems.
2024
Global Missions Expansion Begins! We announced our updated mission statement: To develop lifelong followers of Jesus both “Here and Around the World”. On this same day, we launched our next parking lot expansion fundraiser, completed later that year. Missions efforts expanded to El Salvador and Tanzania, continuing our passion to serve globally.
Coming Sept 14th, 2025
We’re excited to launch a third Sunday service as we continue to grow and reach even more people for Jesus.
The Next Chapter Starts Now!
As we celebrate 20 years of God’s faithfulness, we look ahead with hearts full of expectation. What began as a step of faith has grown into a vibrant church family, rooted in God’s Word, fueled by His presence, and passionate about reaching the world.
Over the years, we’ve discovered the power of doing life together—growing in Christ, serving others, and living with purpose. As we move forward, we’re more committed than ever to building a church that reflects the heart of Jesus in every way.
We believe the next 20 years hold even greater things. Together, we’ll keep saying “yes” to the call of God—becoming a people marked by hope, known for love, and moved to action in our homes, neighborhoods, and the nations.
You matter to this story. Your faith, your voice, your heart for others—it all plays a part in what God is doing through LifePoint. Let’s continue writing this story together, trusting that the best is still ahead.
Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus and imagine what He can do through a people fully surrendered to Him. The next chapter starts now.
LifePoint is a place where we are able to hear an anointed word that comes directly from the Lord. A Place where the hurting can find healing, the weak can be strengthened, the poor in spirit to be comforted. Lifepointers know how to pray at LP. They will interceed for you, cover you in prayer and walk through the fire with you. It is a place that from the first day I have received timely and anointed words that have transformed my life.
Before we found this church, my family was going through a lot. We were trying to hold it together, but deep down, we were tired, disconnected, and spiritually empty. The moment we walked through these doors, something shifted. We felt seen… loved… like we finally belonged somewhere. God used this church to bring healing into our home. Our marriage got stronger, our daughter started asking about God, and for the first time in a long time, we felt peace. Real peace. I can’t explain it fully, but I know this place was an answer to a prayer I was too tired to pray. I’m just so thankful for what God is doing in our lives through this church.

What a blessing LifePoint has been here and around the world. My wife, Sally (who passed away 4 years ago), were pastoring another church here in the same town 20 years ago. The Lord spoke to us give a check to these pastors who were working so hard to build LifePoint. God used the efforts of Pastors Cecil and Leah and it's exciting to say, "Look what the Lord has done!"... in these 20 years! May God's blessings continue to be upon these pastors and this tremendous church!

Lifepoint is family to us. We’ve built friendships that have loved and supported our family like true brothers and sisters. They walked alongside us during our son’s 2.5-year battle with cancer and then rejoiced with us as he rang the bell, celebrating his victory in front of our church family.
